Committee Description:

The Program Chair/Assistant Program Chair Committee is an Academic Senate participatory governance committee. The committee is comprised of the elected program chair from each discipline and the appointed assistant program chairs. The role of the Program Chair/Assistant Program Chair Committee is to discuss issues related to the instructional program and make recommendations to be forwarded to the Academic Senate, Executive Governance Council or administration as needed.

Chair:

Elected by committee - Two Year Term. The Committee will elect a Chair in the first meeting of the current Chair’s last year.

  • Program Chairs 9,
  • Assistant Program Chairs 14

Committee Goals/Issues:

This committee will be the forum for the discussion of issues related to improving the instructional program. As needed the committee will make recommendations to the Academic Senate, Executive Governance Council, and administration as needed.

Committee Procedures:

The committee will meet as needed, convened by the Chair of Program Chairs. Minutes of the meeting will be shared with members. Formal recommendations will be shared with faculty.

Committee Calendar

The Committee will determine its meeting schedule at the first meeting, but will meet no less than twice a semester. Meeting minutes will be posted. Meeting agendas and minutes will be posted on the Continuing Education web page at http://gov.sdce.edu/.
