Committee Description:

The Faculty Camus Councils are Academic Senate participatory governance committees. The faculty at each campus shall form a Faculty Campus Council, which is a branch of the Continuing Education Academic Senate. The primary purpose of the Faculty Campus Council is to inform faculty at each campus of issues under discussion at the Continuing Education Academic Senate as related to the formation and implementation of policies on academic and professional matters.

Committee Membership:

  • Faculty (TBD);
  • Administrators (TBD);
  • Classified (TBD); and
  • Students (TBD).

Faculty Campus Councils are a faculty driven councils, but in the interest of sound communication and full representation by all major groups, administrators, classified, and students are invited to attend.

Committee Goals/Issues:

The committee goals are:

  • To ensure faculty the opportunity to express their opinions and gather the preferences at the campus level on those issues under discussion at the CE Academic Senate meetings;
  • Bring forward recommendations to the Academic Senate through the Academic Senate Executive Committee, in written form or resolution, those issues over which the Academic Senate has responsibility; and
  • To provide for a campus official voting delegate at the monthly Academic Senate meetings.

Committee Calendar:

The Faculty Campus Council President at each campus shall decide when to hold regularly scheduled meetings. Meeting minutes will be posted. Meeting agendas and minutes will be posted on the Continuing Education web page at http://gov.sdce.edu/.
