Committee Description:
The Commencement Committee is a sub-committee of the Matriculation Advisory of the Continuing Education Administrative Governance Council. The purpose of the committee is to annually plan commencement for Continuing Education. The activities related to this planning include developing sub-committees, setting the time, date and location for the ceremony, prepare an alternate plan and location in case of an emergency; and set policies regarding students’ eligibility to participate in the ceremony.

- Counselors-one per campus
The membership is open to anyone who would like to volunteer. There is a core group of counselors, administrative technician, Dean and ancillary members when needed regarding their area.
Committee Goals/Issues:
The goal is to have commencement organized and begin on time. There is a core group of counselors, administrative technician, Dean and ancillary members when needed regarding their area. Issues related to this goal are the coordination of six Continuing Education campuses and five San Diego Unified HSDP Schools. All the while, ensuring that each phase of the ceremony is clearly communicated with adequate coverage for the ceremony to run smoothly for our students, dignitaries and guests.
Committee Calendar:
Committee will meet annually beginning Fall leading up to commencement. Meeting minutes will be posted. Meeting agendas and minutes will be posted on the Continuing Education web page at http://gov.sdce.edu/.
