Committee Description:
The Student Services Council is an Administrative Governance Council participatory governance committee comprised of representation from Continuing Education faculty, administration, and staff. The Council reviews issues concerning student services in CE and makes recommendations to the Administrative Governance Council. Areas of concern include but are not limited to: DSPS, matriculation, student affairs, student retention, veterans, student transitions, career development services and basic skills initiative. The committee delegates tasks to subcommittees for recommendations and implementation of plans. The committee also serves as a connection to the District Student Services Council for district-wide student services issues.

All things related to student services. Topics include:

- Development of professional development for Crisis Prevention Intervention

- Relations with SD Unified School District: waivers, processes, HSPD program

- Data collection processes

Committee Calendar
Meetings generally are the first and third Thursday of the month. Committee operates by consensus. Make recommendations as a group to constituencies represented. Information goes from the representatives on this committee to their constituencies (A.S., Deans, Counseling Dept, DSPS, CalWorks, etc). Minutes taken and posted in public folder (CE SSC). Meeting agendas and minutes will be posted on the Continuing Education web page at http://gov.sdce.edu/.
